Hi, I'm

Occupational Therapist
Chan Li Leng

Master's Degree, Occupational Therapy
My name is Li Leng and I am an Occupational Therapist at Kaleidoscope Therapy Centre.

I began my career as the sole Occupational Therapist at a special school for students with intellectual disabilities. During my four years there, I established the therapy room, acquired necessary resources, and implemented various occupational therapy programs focusing on pre-writing and writing skills, alertness, sensory input related to meal intake, and pre-vocational skills. Following this, I took a 'gap year' of over 10 years to become a stay-at-home mother. This period offered invaluable insights into parenting, enhancing my ability to communicate effectively with parents and maintain an open, cheerful outlook.

Upon returning to practice, I gained further experience in a private clinic, preschools, and international schools, primarily applying sensory integration theories and techniques to enhance students' participation and engagement. My special interests in pediatric OT include emotional regulation, sensory integration, social skills, executive functioning, and fostering independence.

I work at Mighty Oaks one full day per week, providing an hour of therapy for each class once a week. My first 30-minute session for each class is a gym group addressing gross motor skills, and the second 30-minute group focuses on fine motor skills and handwriting.
